iOS TED app not working?

Last Updated: Apr 10, 2012 03:48PM EDT
Here are some basic troubleshooting steps you can take to solve the problem:

The first step is to check if your version of the TED app is up to date, go to the App Store on your device and tap 'Updates' in the bottom-right corner and download it if it is available. Next is making sure iOS is up to date on your iOS device, you can do so in iTunes while the device is plugged in.

If you are still having problems, you can try to force-quit the app by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red “power-off“ slider—but don’t slide this time. Instead, press and hold the Home button down until the app quits and you find yourself back on the Home screen. Then, relaunch the app.

The final basic troubleshooting step would be to uninstall and re-install the app on your iOS device. You do this by tapping and holding down on the TED app until you see all the icons begin to shake, you should see a red 'X' appear in the top-left corner of the app icon. Press that icon for the TED app and it will be removed from your device. Then, go into the app store and search for 'TED'. Make sure you select and download the app created by TED Conferences, this is the official app developed by TED (there are more than a few 3rd-party apps that we are unable to support). Once you have installed this successfully, go ahead and launch the app.
